During the time when Thanos plotted the overthrow of Mota and the seize of his power, of the two races he created, he had a favorite. His name was Fleet. Being the smartest of all the elves. Thanos kept Fleet by his side at all times to help him organize and plan the demise. The wisest elf worked hard at gaining the trust of his master all the while harboring a tremendous hate for him. Fleet felt that no race of such intellect should ever be enslaved by the likes of Thanos. For every day that he spent assisting his master, he spent an equal amount of time envisioning his doom. Whilst Thanos slept, Fleet would study the sacred books of his evil enslaver and gathered as much knowledge as he could. It was the mage's plan to become as powerful if not more than his malevolent lord.

The days took their toll on Fleet as he battled by sunlight and studied by moonglow but his determination saw him through the debilitating hours. The Elves were commanded to fight the Druids, Mota's Chosen ones. Fleet did not feel just in clashing with the Druids but he had no choice in the matter as he either did his masters bidding or face death. He only hoped that the Gods would forgive him for his indiscretion. Without Mota to protect his minion, the Druids recieved many casualties. It seemed they were not able to compete with this new and powerful race. Fleet and his bothers caused the spilling of much innocent Druid blood and he agonized in his given task. This only fueled his desire further to complete the destruction of the wicked Thanos for only then would he feel that he might be worthy of the God's pardon as well as the Druid's.

Fleet decided that the best way to defeat Thanos was to help the cause of the opposing side. It would not be easy to gain the trust of the Druids but he believed that his own acumen would make this possible. Being able to teleport as elves so easily could, Fleet scribed copies of the same spells Thanos used with his elves and transported himself to the encampment of the Druids and strategically placed them where they could be easily found. His desire was that the Healers would not take them as forgeries and destroy them. Only time would tell.

As the battle drawed on, it appeared as if his plan was beginning to work. It seemed that The Druids were able to slow off the attack enough that they could heal their own, repair the damage and even make counter spells. Fleet knew that Thanos might suspect treason so he gathered as many of the elves as he could and helped them escape to another land. Knowing full well that Thanos could easily retrieve them, Fleet knew that all his hours of study would finally come to fruition. The time had come to face Thanos and realize his dream. As he feared, the Dark Lord summoned him to his throne and began questioning Fleet about the ensuing outcome of the battle. "It is inconcievable that the Druids could be accomplishing my defeat unless they had help!", Thanos told Fleet. "You are the only one capable of this traitory!" he bellowed and with that the the battle began.

Thanos was a Wizard of incredible power. Fleet knew that if he was not careful he may very well lose his life but it was a chance he had to take for the sake of Justice, his race and innocent Druid lives. The Dreaded Thanos unleashed spell after spell, fire streamed from his fingertips and mystical explosions filled the room. Thanos did not take but a second to procure his magic and Fleet had to recall what he had learned. This caught Fleet off guard. He was overwelmed by the power and quickness of the damage his Evil Master was able to inflict upon him. He also did not take Thanos' anger into account as it fueled the attack, but he knew that a cool head and a superior intellect would prevail. The Mage had become quite powerful as a result of all his hard work and study and slowly but surely he began to get the upper hand over Thanos.

The Viscious Warlord was taken aback by his mage's strength. "All the while you have been studying my magic as you feigned Loyalty to me" spouted Thanos, "and you will pay for your treachery with your life as well as the life of your brothers!". The onslaught was brutal and and could have easily destroyed the dank cave in which Thanos resided but Fleet had planned his battle well. It seems that Thanos made Fleet much more intelligent than himself and this would be his own downfall. Fleet worked his magic to weaken the Satanic Wizard and he save the most powerful spells for when they would be most effective. "This cannot be happening! I made you! You are mine! You MUST obey!" moaned the weakening Thanos! This only made Fleet increase his attack as he felt that victory was in his sight. Finally Thanos could conjure no more as he collapsed to the ground, weak and beaten. Fleet looked down upon the pathetic form that lay there breathing heavily and having achieved superiority over Thanos, he said to him, "I will spare your life as I am tired of spilling blood. I only wish that I could bring back the lives that I have taken under your control. But I warn you to never darken the lives of the elves or anyone else ever again!". Thanos could not oppose Fleet as he was weakened by the battle but drew up his last bit of magic to disappear without a trace as did the rest of the elves that Fleet was not able to save. This sorrowed him but he could not change the result. The War was over and with Thanos defeated, Fleet made his plea to the Gods. His actions did not go unnoticed.

Though the Gods did not intervene in the outcome, they knew of Fleets intentions all along and as a reward for his strength and courage, The Emperor and Empress bestowed upon the mighty Mage, the Mantle of Immortality and a place in the heavens as Guardian of the Elves that came to reside in the Barren Realms.
