HP regen?

Post by Teach »

What factors affect HP regen? I'm assuming that resting/sleeping helps, but does anything else help? High Con?

(Edited to fix my brainfart mixing stamina and con)

I posted what all the attributes do here, both for at level affects and in-game affects.

Having a high con, resting/sleeping and drunkenness are, I believe, the only factors in hp regeneration.

No items or spells of regen. The best you can do is booze to regen hp faster (or sleep/rest.)

I suppose technically, if you're a hero or under level 11, you can do your regen-ing at a healer, who will then occasionally heal you to speed up your heal time. That would help you heal faster, on average - assuming the time you spend getting to a healer and back isn't more than the time to regen fully, anyways.

Or ask nicely and i'll set your maximum hp to 1. You'll never have to worry about recovery again!

there is one more factor affecting hp and mana regen-thirst/hunger. if you're hungry/thirsty, your rate of regen will be lower (that's why you should always eat and drink BEFORE drinking the firebreather, because when you're drunk you won't be able to.

Not everyone runs straight for firebreather, jellos do the same job without the messy side affects,

I generally used ales from the barkeep in calathar - if you're drinking them constantly, it keeps you full/unthirsty as well as pretty drunk.

But it is a good point, Disaster. On the same lines, if you're poisoned or plagued (or any other long-term affect that damages you), it's obviously going to slow how fast you heal.

yeah ales have always been my alcohol of choice. Definitely keeps you drunk but doesn't get you so wasted. And is there a degree to drunkeness? that maybe effects how drunk your speech is or how much you go the wrong direction?

There's the message in the affects that says "Very drunk" and "Drunk" if that's what you're asking. :?
